HancomMobileWord is a word processor program for PDA.
Microsoft Word and HancomMobileWord
documents can be imported to your Zaurus SL-5600.
You can check and modify documents while away from your desk.
New
To create a document in HancomMobile- Word, tap
"File-New" or the "New" icon ().
Open
To view or edit the document written and saved in HancomMobileWord,
tap "File- Open" or the "Open" icon to pop up
the file list window.
1. Tap "File" menu and then tap "Open".
Or tap the "Open" icon () on the toolbar. The screen turns to the
file list window.
2. When you tap a document in the file list window, it will be opened.
Save
You can save the current document as a file by tapping
"File-Save" or the "Save" icon () on the
toolbar.
- A saved document will be saved again under the existing file name.
- When saving a newly created document, the "Save As" dialog
box will appear.
Save As
To save the current document as a new file name in a different format, tap
"File-Save As" on the menubar.
1. Tap the "File" menu and then tap "Save As". The "Save As" dialog box appears.
- Name : Input the file name for the
current document.
- Folder : Designate the location to
save the document. The list of locations will appear by tapping the combobox.
As a default, files will be stored in the Internal Storage(main
memory).
If an SD Card or CompactFlash(CF) Card is being used with the SL-5600, they will appear
in the list and you can save files to these cards.
- Type : Select the type of file to save
the document as. The list of file types available will appear when you tap the combobox.
2. Tap or press the "OK" to save the document. The
current document will be saved as a new file name.
Template
Templates available in HancomMobileWord are
predefined documents frequently used, such as Meeting Notes, Memo,
Phone Memo, and To Do.
Exit
This command saves the file and exits HancomMobileWord.
Undo / Redo
"Undo" is used to cancel the last action, and "Redo"
repeats the action undone previously.
Cut
"Cut" is used to temporarily cut data and move it to a
different location. The data can be re-added within the document by "Edit-Paste".
NOTE :
Setting a selection area
Set a selection of desired contents in the document by dragging over the
selected area with the stylus.
You can also set a selection of contents by using the SHIFT () and Cursor
key.
Copy
"Copy" is operated pretty much the same as "Cut", but leaves the original information intact, so you
have a copy of the selected content stored in memory that can be pasted
elsewhere.
Paste
You can paste content that was cut or copied anywhere
you desire. Simply move the cursor to the location, and tap "Edit-Paste"
on the menubar.
Clear
This is used to clear a document by deleting the
content that is currently being edited.
Select All
This command selects the entire document. It is useful for changing the font or
paragraph formats to the entire document.
Find/Replace
The Find command searches for a specific word or string of words in a document.
The Replace command replaces the word with a different one.
* Find
1. Place the cursor at the beginning of the document or a desired
location.
2. Tap the "Edit" menu and then tap "Find/Replace". The "Find/Replace" window will be
displayed.
- Find what : Type in a word to look for.
- Match case : This is an option for finding words that are
case sensitive.
- Whole words only : This is an option for finding the
exact match for the word typed in. Accordingly, this option will discard all
words that match only partially.
3. When you tap the "Find" button, the screen turns to
the document window.
4. The Find command executes again by tapping the "Next"
button at the bottom of the document window.
5. You can repeat the "Next" command.
To cancel it, tap at the bottom-right of the document window.
* Replace
1. In the "Find/Replace" window, tap the "Replace"
button. The Replace with option appears under the Find what.
2. Type in a word to find and the new word to replace it with, and then
select any other options that you want.
3. When you tap the "Find" button, the screen turns to
the document window.
4. In the document window ;
- If you want to find and select the next occurrence without replacement, tap
the "Next" button.
- If you want to review and selectively replace each occurrence, tap the "Replace"
button.
- If you want to automatically replace all occurrences in the entire document,
tap the "Replace All" button.
Insert Image
HancomMobileWord will insert images stored in the PDA
into documents.
The type of image files that can be inserted into HancomMobileWord
documents are those with *.bmp, *.gif, *.jpg, *.png
extensions.
1. Place the cursor where the image is desired.
2. Tap the "Insert" menu and then tap "Insert
Image". The image file list will be
displayed.
3. Tap the image file you want to open. The selected image appears in
the document.
Date/Time
This function automatically sets a Date/Time to be inserted into the document.
Format
The "Format" menu is where you can
change the font type, size and color and select attributes such as Bold, Italic
and Underline for the document.
1. In order to apply formats, set a selection of desired contents in the
document by using the stylus or the SHIFT () and Cursor key.
2. Tap the "Format" menu and then tap "Format". Or tap the "Format" icon () on the toolbar.
The "Format" window will be displayed.
3. Select the font type, size and color of your choice.
4. Select any other options that you want, and then tap or press the
"OK".
Paragraph
Paragraphs may be altered by using "Format-Paragraph" menu
command.
In the "Paragraph" window, you can select line spacing,
paragraph numbering, and so on.
If you want to apply the changes to multiple paragraphs simultaneously, the
desired paragraphs should be selected.
Alignment
"Alignment" lets you decide the horizontal placement of each
line within the paragraph. You may do this from the toolbar or the "Format-Paragraph"
menu command.
- Align left
: Aligns paragraph to the left side
- Align center
: Centers Paragraph
- Align right
: Aligns paragraph to the right side
Indent / Outdent
This is a function for controlling paragraph
indentation. By controlling indentation, you may create a document that is easy
to read.
Show Toolbar
This function is used to display or hide the toolbar.
Word Count
This function is used for counting words in any document.
