Possible clues to Elizabeth's maiden name from DNA matches. A "John Lynn" is a neighbor of the Youngs along Renox Creek, Cumberland Co,, KY - but a John Lynn is also next to the Young's in Beverly Manor, Augusta Co, VA. A search on Lynn's there in our DNA matches finds dozens of descendants of Margaret Lynn, b.1693 Ireland d.1773 Bellafonte, Augusta, VA. She married a Lewis. Daughter Margaret Lynn Lewis married a Long, and their son Capt William Long moved to Cumberland Co, KY.

No other Young's are neighbors in 1820 ; it's possible William and Thomas stayed in KY. The marriage of "Thomas Young" and Lucy Barbee in Shelby 1811 is a different line. The will does refer seperately to "William Young and Thomas Young".

Some claim this marriage: Thomas Young m. Elizabeth Hughes 18 Mar 1795 in Lincoln, KY not long after brother James Young married Sally Breeding there (5 counties away from Jefferson) but this couple is known to have ended up in Perry Co, KY,
