My Family Tree

Only added for research purposes. I think it likely Daniel Harrison Huffines was named after a relative of his mother named Daniel Harrison. The Daniel Harrison who settled early in Washington Co, TN first had a NC land survey done in 1779 on "Mill Fork" of the "Big Limestone Creek" west of Jonesborough.

Neighbors were James Mitchell, William Richey, Robert Blakeley, William Jennings, and William Simmons.

4 surveys done with the last in 1798 referring to "No. 2743". Warrant #? The 1778 survey registered 1781 has #1275 on it.
I see neighbor William Richey has No. 2742, so it must refer to the initial survey.

These very early surveys in Western North Carolina probably meant he was receiving a bounty for service in the Rev. War. Indeed there was a private Daniel Harrison:
