  Narrative

Joseph Davenport by Dale T Ellis.doc, Dale T Ellis, (http://www.scvcamp469-nbf.com/ancestors/Ellis-Ancestor.htm).
"Adeline Davenport married David Springs, who was an officer in Capt. R.R. Davenport's Brigade under Gen. Nathan B. Forrest."

home in 1850: District 24, De Kalb, Alabama (living next to the McSpaddens and Lilburn Davenport)
Home in 1860: Northern Division, De Kalb, Alabama
Home in 1870: Township 6 Range 9, De Kalb, Alabama
Home in 1880: De Kalb, Alabama
Home in 1900: Collins, De Kalb, Alabama
Home in 1910: Collins, Dekalb, Alabama (living with nephew William F Fischer's family)

daughter remains "Adaline Davenport" in 1860, 1880. She is Adaline Spring only in 1870 Census. In 1880 she is next door to mother and niece in Emaline Davenport Holleman's hh. Since she was born 9 years after Adaline and David married, this is a real puzzle. She must be Orville's daughter, but raised by Adaline. In 1900, Adaline Ledbetter Davenport Spring says she has had no children.

"DAVID HENNEGAR SPRING born Bledsoe Co., Tenn., Feb. 12, 1829; died DeKalb Co., Ala., Oct. 7, 1907; married A. J. Davenport, Feb. 14, 1849." http://www.tngenweb.org/records/tn_wide/obits/nca/nca08-02.htm
