Narrative
Before Jan 1663 James went to Rhode Island, leaving his wife and family behind. In May 1663 Henry Wakelee had a power of attorney from James. He had been accused of a major crime, presumably witchcraft. In fleeing, James had forfeited a bond of £150, which he had given for his appearance (at court). His housing and land were sold.[1]
