(1) 1681: A John Macky of County Down had taken from him for tithe, by Hugh
Powell and Edmond MacElcoshker, two stooks of wheat, 11 stooks of oats and 2
stooks of barley, all woth 11s. (NOTE: May not be the same John Mackey, as
he lives in a different county.)
(1) 1699, 11 Jun (4th mo.): John Mackie of Kincon, County Armagh, wrote his
will, calling himself "weak in body but perfect in memory." Leaves to his wife
the 3rd part of all his goods & chattels "quick and dead within and without"
and his house and land during her Life. After her decease, her portion to fall
to his sons Joseph and Benjamin, to be equally divided between them. After his
wife's third part is taken off, he gives one half of what remains to his sons
William and Joseph and his daughter Rebecca, to be divided equally. He leaves
the other half to his son Benjamin and his daughter Martha, to be divided
equally. His wife to be executrix. William Brownlee Jr. and William Gray to be
overseers and guardians. Directs that his body be buried in the "buering Place
in the mueny belonging to the meeting of balley hagen." Wits. Charles Brown,
Kellren Brown.
(1) 1699, 6 Sep (7th mo.): William Macky, David Kell, Joseph Mackey certify
that they have received "full satisfaction of our mother concerning our
