Experiments in AI

Restoring old photographs

MyHeritage was one of the first to offer an AI tool to restore old, blurry B&W photos. Since then, I found GFP-GAN does a more realistic job, and then I colorize them with the restore filter on Ancestry.com.

More recently, AI is now able to generate a realistic video of a person talking based on a photograph. I use Heygen. On there, you can create an AI Avatar of a deceased relative if you have an audio recording of them.

Create a Book

Mike Adams has done a great job "re-programming" a public AI LLM, and training it with much of the alternative media (books, websites, podcasts). At BrightLearn Books you can have AI create the non-fiction book you want to read. Click the cover to read the one I did (free!).

See the interesting conversation I had with Claude about the Breakaway Civilization.

Coding with Claude

Anthropic's Sonnet 4.5 was a breakthru in software development. I can now just describe what I want to do, and then work thru a whole process of bug fixes and enhancements. I used Claude to write a Joomla! installable plugin that adds a <Claude AI> option to every content editor on my website. Now my members can generate articles with Claude's help.

Generative AI

I used Claude AI to create this dynamic page, and Gemini AI to create the background.
