Many compilers indicate that James married Eunice Barnes, daughter of Samuel Barnes. This appears to be a confusion with the Eunice Barnes who married a James Franklin in 1742.

The most reliable sources give only 4 children of this marriage: John, James, Lydia and Abel. Some compilers add Mary (who was the daughter of their son James) and David/Daniel (this may be based on a question posed in the Boston Transcript in 1923 listing Dan instead of John; there was a Daniel Franklin born about 1690, but he is apparentaly unrelated - see Franklin Cousins web page).
