Whettcomb and family" were passengers aboard the Hopewell, sailing from Weymouth, Dorset for New England.[2][6] The family first settled in Dorchester, Massachusetts, but removed to Scituate, Massachusetts by 1639 and then to Lancaster, Massachusetts by 1654.
