A "Peter Smith" in Yadkin, Stokes Co, NC in 1810 census lives a few doors from the Huffines. He is the only Smith in the Yadkin district. Peter listed as 16-25 years old but an older woman in the hh probably means he is the son. Not far from Huffines in 1800 Census is nextdoor neighbors Peter 26-45, John 26-45, and Ann Smith 45+. Ann Smith executor of Isaac Smith's estate in Dec 1809 Stokes.

Anna Smith above is his 2nd wife, Anna Fidler, married coincidentally in 1791. Perhaps 1st wife died in childbirth of Margaret???

Most trees claim Margaret and siblings born in the 1770's so there could be another generation...

Note Lewis Hicks b~1803 married 1827 Elizabeth Smith. Christian Columbus Smith had a daughter Elizabeth b. 1803. Both sister and brother of Lewis also married Smith's...

Denise K Young had brothers of Peggy Smith as "Calvin Smith" and "Judge J P Smith" of Carter Co, TN. Judge J P Smith however was 3 or 4 generations later than Peggy, and the only Calvin Smith in early TN is in Sullivan Co.

Another possilble Smith line identified thru DNA:
James and sons John C and William W Smith are neighbors in 1840 Carter. John C Smith b.1812 married Jincey Taylor. John C Smith named a daughter Margaret. Large shared DNA segments between descendants of John C Smith and Peggy Smith suggest he was a brother or 1st cousin of Peggy Smith. James b.1776 m. Elizabeth Dean? ( b1789) had John C 1812, William W 1814, Rachel? Numerous descendants of these Smith's match descendants of Lt Thomas Smith of NH. The Y-DNA of male Smith descendants also match.
