Often confused with other Thomas Jones. He is not the son of Joseph Jones and Patience Little who lived in Hingham 1679-1723.

He came to Edgarton from Sandwich about 1728 with his wife and six children. He remained in Edgarton for a few years and removed to Nantucket.
