Kato "Lee" Davenport
July 14, 1933 - October 2, 2020

Graveside Services for Kato “Lee” Davenport, age 87, of Shreveport, LA will be 2:30 PM, Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Stanley, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. His grandson, Derek Davenport, M.Div will officiate the service. A visitation will be prior to the service at 2:00 PM.

Mr. Davenport was born on July 14, 1933 in Haslam, TX and died on October 2, 2020 in Ruston, LA. He was a member of Viking Drive Church of Christ in Bossier City, LA. He was a member of the United States Navy for 22 years serving as a Submariner and in Strategic Command. Mr. Davenport was the Fire Chief of the Stanley Volunteer Fire Department and was instrumental in it’s modernization and expansion. Mr. Davenport was also employed by the DeSoto Sheriff’s Office for 12 years. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirly Anna Davenport.

Mr. Davenport is survived by his son, Clifford Davenport and wife Debra of Bailey, Colorado; son, Roy Davenport and wife Sally of Ruston, LA; son, Russell Davenport of Shreveport, LA; and daughter, Sharol Davenport of Shreveport, LA; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; niece, Elizabeth Smith; and numerous other relatives and friends.
