Two possible sources are named. Some claim that John is the son of Francis who sailed on the Ship Love in 1635. Extensive research by myself makes this possibility quite slim. The History of Vermont says that John Harmon sailed in the Ship Bachelor from London to Boston. He was a mariner and desired to seek employment upon arrival in America. There are ten unnamed men on this ship. John could be one of them. Also aboard the Bachelor was a maid servant, Elizabeth Coles, age 23.
