"Robert Ashmore Collins" (full name) is referenced in Trails to Gold, Volume 1 By Branwen Christine Patenaude
"...Soda Creek roadhouse..., by 1877 the land had been purchased by Robert Ashmore Collins, a miller from Soda Creek, here he and his family lived and farmed on Lots 58, 59, and 60, G.l. Cariboo. Following the death of Robert Collins in 1908 his family fell on hard times, and borrowed money against the farm...which was foreclosed."

BC Paper 1908 -
"The remains of Robert Ashmore Collins, a stranger who died on Friday In the hospital here, were interred at the Anglican cemetery yesterday afternoon. Rev. A. Shtldrick, of Holy Trinity cathedral, conducting the funeral services. misc. The funeral will take place In the Church of England cemetery this afternoon. W. E. Fales being the undertaker. The young girl accompanled her father to this city from [Ens-j h-nd] only a few months ago."

The BC Death Cert actually says Robert Ashman Collins. Curiously, a family of Ashman's lived in St John's Union, Sligo, Ireland and also came to Ontario. Since Robert was born in Ireland, he would have been named after a Robert Ashman locally, or connected to the Collins. Indeed, a Robert Ashman married Margaret Fee in Annagh 1844 only a few miles from Doomore.
