Narrative
Notes:
In 1633, Ann came to MD on Ark and Dove. It appears she returned to England for the birth of each of her two children. Governor Thomas Greene was married to Mistress Ann Cox, a spinster, *who was among the few gentlewomen on the initial voyage of the Ark and the Dove. It was undoubtedly the first Christian marriage to have been celebrated on Maryland soil. She died within a few years, but was living as late as April, 1638. * Mistress and Spinster in the 17th century were the titles given to an unmarried woman of gentle birth who had acquired an estate and independent status.
