possible birth records in Germany. Appears to refer to same baptism? Could not be our John Hixt if baptized in 1727:

Considering above, plus surname "Hixt" is most common in Hesse, Germany, John Hixt probably came in the same migration route as the Hoffheintz/Huffines, who came from Hesse, Germany in 1763 to Lancaster, PA before moving to NC about 1770. Also note in the earliest records the attempt to spell what the surname sounded like is most often "Haixt" ( a German "Häxt" ). I do see a "John Hicks" in 1773 Lebanon, Lancaster, PA ( also John, Daniel, Mich'l Heisd/Heist ) This is only 20 miles from the Bern Reformed Lutheran Church with Maria Catharina Gücker.
