This is a guess from incomplete census! Believe "S A Davenport" in 1892 Male Voter Role of Jackson County, TN and
1900 Census Jackson County "S??? & Sarah Davenport" is Simpson Alexander (Sarah and Simpson ages are close). Finally obit of Cannie Davenport Cook indicates Cannie, Marvin, Stanton, & Staley et al are all brother and sister.
Home in 1910: Civil District 6, Macon, Tennessee

Note in 1900 Census, Sarah and Simpson both say they've been married 20 years and she says she's had 11 children, 8 living. Possible he did not marry twice - can find no marriage cert after 1886
