Narrative

Father's Givenname a wild guess based on eligible Dycus men in Jackson County, who were missing completely in the 1900 census. Note his brother Fountain Alexander DYCUS had a son "Seth Secundus Dycus" in Nov 24, 1893. I assume Fount named his son after the tragically young death of his brother.

"S. Dycus" is a male voter in the 1891 TN Census, Jackson County, Dist 11

Alternately, Judy Nickles relates by way of Denver Ray, that Marie Nickles (Almedia's grandniece) said Almedia's first husband was George "Oscar" Dycus. However, I do not see a George/Oscar Dycus in the census, and it is suspicious that Almedia's son was Oscar Dycus and 2nd husband was George.
