Narrative
Richard Haile is referred to as Capt. Richard Haile in a deed his son [BO:John:BO] executed in 1703, probably not long after his death. (Possibility of his birth, not proven, record in Barbados show a Richard Hayles, son of Mrs. Hayles, baptized at St. Michael Parish Oct. 9, 1649. There is no evidence that Richard is the son of immigrant Nicholas Haile from Kent, England, who arrived in 1645. Nicholas had properties in York and Lancaster Co in 1655, and known sons are Joseph, George, and Francis, whose names also appear in Cavaliers and Pioneers, V. II.) Richard was deed 100 acres in Essex Co in 1684 by Henry Awbrey, part of Awbrey's 5100 acre tract, 'for the seating of the pattent.' Richard took up 720 acres of land in Essex Co in 1694, near the border of King & Queen Co He apparently had two sons, Richard Haile, Jr., the godson of Henry Awbrey, who died before manhood.
Last Will & Testament dated August 17, 1744 and was recorded October 16, 1744 (Ref: Essex Co., VA Wills 1743-1747 pps 214-216 Text: Listed on this page are John HAILE and Mary FULLERTON children

The Coat of Arms for Hale of King Walden in Hertfordshire, England was taken from the Francis Hail family Bible in Franklin county VA in 1989. Francis Hail born 1707 in Essex county VA, d 1780 Bedford, VA. [Does the rest of this lineage also come from that Bible?] Nicholas Hales of Hales Place in Halden, county of Kent 1250 AD. His sons were Sir Robert Hales Knight, Lord High Treasurer of England and Grand Master of the Knights Hospitaller of Jerusalem, and Sir Nicholas Hales who inherited the family property when Robert Hales was killed in 1343 in the Peasants revolt. Son of Nicholas Hales Knight was Thomas Hales of Hales Place in Halden, his sons were Thomas Hales, John Hales and Henry Hales. Henry is my descent, his son was Gilbert Hales of Leveham, England, his son was Edward Hales of Rumford in Essex, England, his son was Thomas Hales of Codicote in Hertfordshire, England, his wife was Ann Mitchell, his son was Richard Hale of Kings Walden, Hertfordshire, Lutton England. Thomas Hales purchased this Manor in 1575, it was built in 1080 AD. The Hale family occupied it from 1575 to 1898. Richard Hale and first wife Mary Lambert were married in 1550, they had William. Richard married Dyonisia the daughter of Gifford of county Somerset. They had Rowland, Richard, George born in 1601, my ancestor who came to VA. in 1620. Alicia, Winefreda, Thomas, Anne and Dionisia. George Hale and wife Ellen had Francis Hale in 1625 and Nicholas Hale in 1626 . Nicholas Hale married Mary Travers born 1625, died 1672. Nicholas died around 1670 and is buried in Lancaster county VA at St. Marys White Chapel Parrish Peach Hill. His sons George and Richard are also there. Richard Heale 1650 (sic) to 1698 married Mary, his son was John Haile 1675 to 1744, wife was Mary Fullerton 1680 to 1783. [My note: The first problem with this ancestry is Richard's birth is changed from 1620 to 1650 to make him a son of Nicholas Haile, b 1626.] [4][5][6]
