Narrative

BIOGRAPHY: Received grant of land on Feb. 26, 1673 and later grants. He was constable in 1681 and selectmand in 1693 and nine other years. He was also town treasurer in 1694-96 and ensign as early as February of 1694. He was representative to the General Court in 1698, 1701, 1717, and 1721. On March 27, 1716 he was moderator of the town meeting in Springfield, the first time anybody else than a Pynchon had held that poistion. He was also moderator in for several later town meetings. On Jan. 2, 1727-1728 he was granted permission to erect a barn for his horses near the meeting house.
