Ada Mae Wallace

Ada Mae Wallace, 89, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2004 at Charlotte
Harbor Healthcare, in Port Charlotte. She was born Aug. 23, 1915 in Gibson County
and moved to Port Charlotte in 1978 from Princeton. While living in Princeton, she
was the owner and manager of Princeton Appliance and Furniture for 34 years.
She was active as an officer and member of the Retail Merchants Parent Teachers
Association, Beta Sigma Phi and the First United Methodist Church, all of Princeton.
In Port Charlotte she worked for Palmers Furniture, which is now Bacon's Furniture,
retiring in 1990. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi, Port Charlotte Lions
Club, Charlotte Promenades Square Dance Club and the Port Charlotte United
Methodist Church. She was also a former volunteer for the Health Plus Gift and
Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Royce E.
Wallace, of Port Charles; a daughter, Ada Marie "Sandy" (Red) Julian, of Port
Charlotte; two sons, Fred Thomas (Viola) Wallace, of Brandon, Fla. and James E. (Phyllis)
Wallace, of Port Charlotte; three sisters, Doris L. Inman, of Odon, Ind., Mary Frances
King, of Princeton and Barbara Hasler, of Odon; four brothers, Charles B. McRoberts,
of Princeton, James Virgil McRoberts, of Fairfax, Va., Buril McRoberts, of Cannelburg,
Ind. and Jack McRoberts, of Odon; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation and services were held Friday in Port Charlotte, Fla. There will also be a
funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2 at the Hillside United Methodist Church, in
Princeton. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until service time. Rev.
Craig Duke will officiate. Burial will be at the Shiloh Cemetery, in Hazleton. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Hillside United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be
available at the Colvin Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
