I was searching for more info on my GGGGGrandfather Martin Shiffer and found your site. I have downloaded the Gage and Shiffer photos - some of which I had already. I'm in Afghanistan right now and will be heading to our new address in El Paso, TX with our daughter. I have a lot of info on ancestry.com and started research in 2000 when I was stationed at FT Drum, NY. I traveled down to Plainfield in Northampton County PA to see all the early Shiffer (Schiffer) graves and old farm from the late 1700s. I appreciate the photos and I have some as well on my site. Cheers Rock

I reprinted the Huddleston Family Tables in 1973 with permission of the widow of George Huddleston, of Birmingham, Ala. I've distributed many copies to libraries all over America. I'm a descendant of Valentine, to Henry, to Seth, to Seth to Jonathan to Jesse, to Samuel to Calvin Leroy, to Lavon to me Don Cordell. email me at huddlstn@antelecom.net I have other Huddleston, Hudelson, Hudleson and other spelling variationa. We have a lot more data on the descendants of Henry Huddleston of Bucks Co, PA from work done by Denzil Maudin in the 1980's. I have a large file now on the descendants of Valentine, and much more on the "L" Chapter, Descendants of James Hudelson of Mifflin Co, PA to KY to Indiana. IF you are a descendant of these lines I can send you a Word Doc file on the descendants or my family tree file, BUT you must no place this file on the internet, as I promised family members privacy for their data on living descendants. Join us to expand all Huddleston data to be proud of our ancestry from a proud English family line.

I see that you have a Bailey Peyton Lewis. Bailey and Peyton were forenames in my family tree and Lewis and John Hicks are witnesses to the will of my most distant proven ancestor. I hope you could help me find more about Lewis and John and there connection to Dinah or Diannah Hicks.

John Phillips' wife at death was Diannah and we think her name at marriage could have been Hicks. They would have been married around 1787 probably in NC.

Thanks.

I have a book called Our Woods Family by James M. Woods. He was my grandfather's cousin. He wrote this book in 1976 when he was 86yrs. old. He researched and even visited most of the homesites in the U.S. and in Scotland and Ireland of our relatives. The first relative mentioned is sir John Woods married to Lady Isabella Bruce. I noticed this in your genealogy also.

I am impressed with the work you have done on the descendants of William Smith (1692-1770) via his daughter Abigail Smith Harrington. I note with some interest that you trace the bulk of them to Chautauqua County.
I have been trying to reconstruct the tree that involves Abagail's brother William (1721-1772) and some descendents of his who moved first to Cayuga County, NY and then on to Allegany Cunty, the second county east of Chatauqua in NY's Southern Tier. My data set on RootsWeb, NealJordan72, extends to the present, but is not nearly so rich in Massachusetts detail as your own.
Thanks for what you have done to make my search easier.

My apology -- There is another site that used gramps that has the ancestors of Sarah Bartlett and I confused it with yours. Anyway, we have now found that that information is bogus on that other site. It had to be a deliberate fudge or just a jumping to conclusion in wishful thinking.

My Wife and son are descendents of a Sarah Barltee who may or may not be the same Sasah Bartlet that you have in your tree. The Birthdate and the Birthplace are the same which would lead us to believe they are the same. It appears from several sites (which may be one copying fromn another as few have sources cites) that she is a direct descendant ()via a Joseph and Joseph Jr.) of the Robert Bartlett who came over on the next ship after the Mayflower with his future wife Mary Warren who herself was the daughter of Richard Warren who came over on the Mayflower. But we cannot trust these sites because there is no authentication. It appears that you have the fother and grandfather as Joseph Jr. and Josept hespectively -- but with no indication that the senior Joseph was the son of the Robert and Mary of the Plymouth Colony. So I am writing to let you know that we are related to your Sarah Bartlett and find what authentication you might have for the Joseph and Joseph Jr. and whether you know one way or the other if the senior Joseph (Sarah's grandfather) is the son of the Robert Bartlett and Mary (Warren) Bartlett.) If you are interested in how my wife is related to Sarah Bartlett write to me.

Hi! I am descended from George Henry Countryman through my grandmother. He is my road block. I can't find *reliable* info. on his parentage. What I do have is a verbal statement from my grandmother that the family started in New York. But the details have been lost. Since she is also distantly related to George I can see why not much is remembered.

I'm not sure what got me into researching grandma's family. I love her dearly and she is an amazing woman to me. I think I started wondering who the people were that raised her.
