What’s the Deal with Greenland?

It’s not even about “acquiring” Greenland. It’s not like any Americans want to move there.

The new flood of AI Data Centers requires both a massive supply of energy AND a huge heat sink to dissipate all the heat put off by GPU’s plus the excess heat from electricity generation from dozens of nuclear power plants. There’s also an enormous global demand for fresh water which would be in abundance as the ice sheet melts.

And if you don’t think that’s wild enough. Real scientists have known for years that we’re actually entering a “Mini-Ice Age”, not a “Global Warming”. Melting the enormous Greenland ice sheet would have the effect of stalling that Ice Age in the North Atlantic.

There’s one more issue. Russia is decades ahead of us in developing technology that works in extremely cold hostile environments, and they already have massive projects above the Arctic Circle. They are the only country with nuclear-powered icebreakers, and they have 8 of them and are building 3 more. We will also need that kind of engineering if we are to colonize Mars.
