He was one of the Maryland heads of families who petitioned Governor Horatio Sharpe in March 1766 to get Marylands General Assembly to issue paper money because tobacco, a standard medium of currency in the state, was inconvenient in the NW part of the state.

a will for a Valentine Lingenfelter of Frederick Co., MD who shows two daughters (Magdalene and Elizabeth) married to two Nagel's (Stopl [probably Christopher] and Frederick). The will was made January 25, 1807 and recorded by his son John, Executor, on October 12, 1807. A very small point about "Stopl". If you read German handwriting, this will actually be Stoffel (the 2 f's with the 'e' can look like the intricate German 'p'), which is in fact a recognized nickname for Christopher[Lingenfelter tree1.FTW]
