Narrative

Son of Charles and Henry are the same age in 1830, but both appear in Henry's hh 1840. Andrew lives next to Hannah but also near Rhoda Davenport Sloan, and names first daughter Rhoda, 2nd daughter Hannah. It is possible that he is son of Charles instead.

DEPOSITIONS 2 December 1886:
A. J. Davenport age 58. "Was born and raised on the waters of Wartrace Creek in Jackson Co., now live in the ridge between the waters of Wartrace and Jennings Creek, not a great distance from where I was raised. Understood James Draper had two grants - one in his own name and one in the name of Thomas L. Draper, which lies west of and adjoins James Draper. I and William & Henry Sneed bought land from James Draper in the Thomas L. Draper grant." A. J. [his X mark] Davenport

Note significant changes in dates between "Andrew" in 1850 Census and "A. J." in 1860, and it's not transcription error; so I am not certain this is the same person.

"Andrew Devenport" age 24 m. Elizabeth lives next door to his mother, Hannah. Next to them are the Sloans from Alabama. familysearch.org has an Elizabeth Sloan daughter of Samuel Sloan born ~1820 Limestone Co, AL. However Joanne Turner lists husband as "Henry Lee". Have been unable to find death certs for their children... OK, found death cert of Margaret Montocilla Stubblefield, d/o "Jackson Davenport" and "Sloan", except other trees say she is Elizabeth Spivey.
