In 1870 he is still single and by 1880, Fountain is married to a "Fannie E" (Francis E Hankins in Law/Hankins Family Tree on ancestry.com) . A gap in children's ages suggests Rhoda may have died after 1874, and Fountain remarried by 1878. 1900 census confirms Fannie and Fountain married in 1878. Other possible matches are "Rody J" married to Alexander Huffines of the right age in 1880. In 1900, Rhoda and Alex Huffines have been married since 1871 and have 1 child - Carrie. This could be the Rhoda J Dixon in 1870 census, but G W Dixon has obviously remarried by 1880.
