"Deceased Name: San Francisco, CA JANSEN, Jane Davenport
May 13, 2000 after a brief illness. Formerly of Lookout Mountain, TN. Mrs. Jansen was the founder of Quarryhill Botanical Garden, where she became nationally known for overseeing the conservation and preservation of plant life collected in Asia. She was past president of Edgewood Children's Home, San Francisco, CA, a member of the Auxiliary Board for San Francisco General Hospital, and a board member of Friends for National Arboretum, Washington, DC, Mrs. Jansen was a member-at-large of the Garden Club of America. Mrs. Jansen was preceded in death by her parents, Randolph B. Davenport, Jr., and Mary McGee Davenport brothers, Robert M. Davenport, Gordon L. Davenport, all of Lookout Mountain, TN. Survived by husband, William Jansen, brother, R.B. Davenport, III, Lookout Mountain, TN sister, Mary Davenport, Nashville, TN. A family memorial services will be held

Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in Quarryhill Botanical Garden, San Francisco, CA. Donations may be made to a favorite charity. WANN FUNERAL HOME, 423-821-7551."
