great-grandfather of Jean Taylor Hill. Jean said he was called Edward but an aunt claimed a "Thomas Edward" was named after him. She is the source for his family.

several trees claim this Thomas Taylor was "Edward Taylor" who married Mary Owens in Guilford Co, NC 1818. This is doubtful since our Taylors were in Craven Co and different Edward Taylor's are in Guilford and Craven in 1830. Thomas probably went with parents to KY/TN before 1810.

Possible that Thomas Taylor and Edward Taylor are 2 different persons. A Thomas Taylor with an unknown earlier family:
