The lineage we have through the family bible/ancestoral stories is: Patrick McAtee (Scotland>Ireland>Maryland ) Patrick McAtee II (married Sarah Greene ) >Patrick McAtee (b1726) >Walter McAtee (8th son, b 1757) >John W. McAtee (1785, m.1810 to Sarah Ann Beavin) >Henry Walter McAtee (b.1817, m. Mary Ellen JOHNSON) >Walter Henry McAtee (1857, 7th son, m. Anne Elizabeth Conway) >Everett Conway McAtee (1894) >Mary Tracy McAtee (1918, my mother)
Also we understand the line we came from were the only Catholic line of the descendants of Patrick I. We know the first Patrick that came from Ireland, was a Scots, and had fled Scotland during a time of war. We heard stories of the first Walter's father living in Virginia, and then the move to Kentucky where they had a plantation, were Confederates, and started moving West after the Civil War. I have found the history fascinating, as both my grandmother and grandfather's ancestors were in this country prior to the Revoluntionary War. So we may be related in the cousin many times removed way.

  Narrative

"...a 1751 administration for the estate of Benjamin McAtee,[xxv] son of Patrick Sr, which lists Abednego, Edmund, and Thomas as the three youngest children."
https://dannmnortongenealogy.wordpress.com/2017/01/29/mcatee-of-rowan-county-nc/

"There is no evidence to indicate when Sarah Greene McAtee died or when Patrick married Ann. Ann may be the mother of the last three children based on the fact she is named in the will with them. Ann is last named in the 1768 rent rolls of his lordship manor of Pangaiah. She is listed with Abednego on the land she inherited from Patrick, Sr.
Ann's maiden name was probably Baggott. Based on the inventory of Samuel Baggott, son of Samuel Baggott, she was the next of kin of the decedent, indicating she was a sister."
