The lineage we have through the family bible/ancestoral stories is: Patrick McAtee (Scotland>Ireland>Maryland ) Patrick McAtee II (married Sarah Greene ) >Patrick McAtee (b1726) >Walter McAtee (8th son, b 1757) >John W. McAtee (1785, m.1810 to Sarah Ann Beavin) >Henry Walter McAtee (b.1817, m. Mary Ellen JOHNSON) >Walter Henry McAtee (1857, 7th son, m. Anne Elizabeth Conway) >Everett Conway McAtee (1894) >Mary Tracy McAtee (1918, my mother)
Also we understand the line we came from were the only Catholic line of the descendants of Patrick I. We know the first Patrick that came from Ireland, was a Scots, and had fled Scotland during a time of war. We heard stories of the first Walter's father living in Virginia, and then the move to Kentucky where they had a plantation, were Confederates, and started moving West after the Civil War. I have found the history fascinating, as both my grandmother and grandfather's ancestors were in this country prior to the Revoluntionary War. So we may be related in the cousin many times removed way.
