Speculations on origin of Hoffheintz
The single male Huffines descendant who has taken the Y-DNA test has the E-M35 haplogroup which originates in North Africa and the Near East. My own "ethnic origins" reports say I have 1% Levant too, despite no known ancestry there. So it's a little curious that in German, Hoffheints means "Farm of Heintz", and Heintz is both a German and Jewish name.

Daniel and Catharina had at least eight children, and possibly as many as twelve. (In addition to the eight known children and one suspected child, there were three female children listed in Daniel and Catharina's household in the early censuses of Surry/Stokes counties, North Carolina that have yet to be identified.)
