"William Henry Prince was a prominent land owner and prosperous farmer in Paint Rock Valley until his death in 1878. He served as the captain of a Jackson county company in the Alabama State Militia during the Civil War and was known to his neighbors as "Cap'n Billy" in relation to his Civil War rank.
He formed a Home Guard with my g-g-grandpa George Washington Hinshaw during the Civil War. There is more written about this Home Guard under the name of George Washington Hinshaw."
