The first evidence of Caffery's and Susannah's marriage was found in a deed of February 25, 1799 when they sold 12 acres of land for six pounds to Christian Wynard in Bedford County, Virginia.
At the time of the 1850 Van Buren County, Tennessee census, Caffery and Susan Martin lived with their son Thomas and his family. He served in the War of 1812
