Narrative

Sarah Greene is the granddaughter of Thomas Greene, fist Governor of Maryland. The Greene's were Catholic, according to James Robling, op, cit. All known Catholic McAtee's came from Patrick II. His two brothers were Protestants, and there was no closeness between the Catholic and Protestant branches of the famiy.

Sidelights on Maryland History, pp 386-7, states that in Charles Co. Court Records Liber K, No. 2, folio 149 in the year 1721, Patrick Maggatee and Sarah, his wife, sued Thomas Greene, eldest son and heir of Robert Greene. The complaint alleged that Thomas Greene on Nov 6th, 1718 was indebted to his sister Sarah, etc.
