My Family Tree

Note 2 John Davenport's born in 1835 - one son of Henry the other son of James. The John who died in 1921 is this one tho:

Note in 1850 Census John is the youngest child in the hh and only 10 years old.

Other John disappears after 1860 census. I assume only the survivor of Civil War service would have applied for this pension:
"John Davenport" residing in Jackson County, TN served with 28th Infantry. Pension #S3581

He was living with son Layton. In 1900 Census, claims he is 85!
