"James Karl Miner, Sr., 88, Lee's Summit , MO, passed away Sunday, August 17, 1997, in Lee's Summit , MO. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 21, at Mount Moriah Cemetery. Friends may call 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Moriah and Freeman Chapel.

Mr. Miner was born May 31, 1909, in Kansas City, MO, and lived most of his life in this area in Leavenworth, KS, and Lee's Summit, MO. He was employed at U.S. Cold Storage from 1929 to 1949 as office manager, at Bendix Corp. from 1952 to 1964 and at General Dynamics Corp. from 1964 to 1969 where he was a production planner. He was a station manager for Midland Energy Corp. from 1973 to 1982, retiring at age 73. He was a lifelong Presbyterian. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jane Miner, of the home; four children, Beverly Pebley, Lone Jack, MO, James Karl Miner, Jr., Lee 's Summit , MO, Janet Campbell, Kansas City, MO, and Joanne Hand, Lee 's Summit , MO; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.isitation will be 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, at the Heritage Funeral Home, Parkville."
